wait, sedna has a mother?!

that’s right, apparently sedna actually had a mum back in classic sedna. i’d been meaning to reimagine and redesign her a bit before reintroducing her to the comic, but ended up taking so long most new readers probably just assumed sedna’s dad was a single parent by now. well, here she finally is, looking a tiiiny bit different from before. hope you guys enjoy the next batch of mum comics because they were a blast to write.

(also now i’m wondering if sedna having two loving parents automatically disqualifies her from ever getting a disney tv/movie adaptation.)

sugar rocket

yes, you can make a rocket with nothing more than table sugar and fertiliser. makes sense if you think about it. sugar has a lot of energy, and potassium nitrate has oxygen, which are the main two ingredients you need for a big boom.

if you want to try this at home, maybe consider looking up some more detailed instructions online. don’t get your pyrotechnical advice from a comic strip, kids.

one day i was talking with an old friend on the phone when out of the blue he mentioned we live for less than 1 million hours and i haven’t been able to stop thinking about it ever since, so naturally i figured i’d impart some of this existential dread on all of you folks. i’m pretty sure i’ve already spent at least 1/700th of my existence playing rome: total war.

percy is actually the first step in a plan to bring a martian surface sample to earth for the first time, which will be of huge massive scientific importance.

essentially a mini esa-built rover will collect the samples from percy and deliver them to a nasa-built rocket, which will launch into mars orbit and rendezvous with another esa-built spacecraft which will take the samples and return to earth by the year 2031 if all goes to plan (which it probably won’t).

illustration day mates! i think i really should study how cool/warm light and shadow works because i have no idea what i’m doing. this time i snuck in a few sedna easter eggs. see if you can spot any (that is if you can be bothered).

fun fact: the saturn jigsaw puzzle is actually based on a true story. my sister gave me a 1,000 piece jupiter jigsaw last christmas and is was by far the hardest puzzle i’ve ever completed in my life. still, it was worth it just for the moment when we put the last piece in while blasting the musical piece ‘jupiter’ from ‘the planets, op 32’ by gustav holst. i know i’m a dork but it felt good man.

who is sedna?

pity they don’t teach rocketry in primary school. would’ve made maths class just a tad more interesting.
